Like many of you, I try my best to keep up with all of this politics. But I have to admit I had barely heard of Mr Christopher Chope, the Conservative MP for Christchurch, prior to his attempt to keep the "minimum wage", except that people could opt to earn and pay less if they wanted.
But, readers, I think he may be a star in the making. Yesterday, he was standing up for our democratic traditions - leading the great rebellion
In what cause? Vetoing the UK Youth parliament holding a once-a-year annual meeting in the Commons chamber.
Could it promote democratic engagement of young people?
Well, sod off anyway.
ConservativeHome have the nay-sayers. Quite a rum list of those to watch. There are a sprinkling of Libs and Labs. Those who have read the Mullin diaries may not be surprised to see the Rt Hon Tommy McAvoy as perhaps the leading Labour luddite.
Perhaps we need to appoint a Chopewatch volunteer?
And nominations for other barkingly bonkers MPs (of whatever party), and the reasons they merit inclusion, welcome.

Christopher Chope also attempted to scrap the BBC TV Licence with a Private Member's Bill last year. Oh, and he thinks that climate change being man-made is a 'doubtful premise'.
Chris Chope is not a new kid on the block. He has form. He was leader of Maggie Thatcher's favourite council, Wandsworth, and a pioneer of flogging off council housing (emptying tower blocks, tarting them up and passing them off as penthouse apartments). As a reward he was smuggled into the Commons as member for Southampton Itchen, and was a Keeper of the Faith for the wackier extremes of the Thatcher project.
