Jo Johnson, youngest brother of London Mayor Boris, has been selected as Tory candidate for Orpington, with a nominal Tory majority of over 5000.
He has had a more substantive journalistic career than his elder brother, having led the FT's India coverage before editing the Lex column, albeit probably somewhat less well renumerated in terms of chicken feed quantities.
His book 'The man who tried to buy the world' is not, despite the title, a study of Lord Ashcroft.
