Miliband: "We need to help finance change in developing countries"

The UK public need to understand the argument that we need to help finance the changes in developing countries on climate change, Ed Miliband argued in today's Fabian Climate Change conference.

"We have an economic interest in making these cahnges and financing these changes in developing ocuntries," he said, adding: "We will see all the effects in the UK that climate projections show.

"I don't think either side (developed and developing countries) can be let off the hook."

"I'm very encouraging on a recent trip to China they are incredibly serious about renewal energy."

"We need to get them to move away from business as usual."

"We don't yet have the sense that December is a make or break month on climate change, I don't think it is a make or break month."

Welcome

Welcome to the Next Left blog from the Fabian Society. We have been writing about policies and politics since the late 19th century. Now we are firmly in the 21st century, starting debates that matter today. As with all Fabian publications, posts on Next Left represent the views of their individual authors, not the collective view of the Fabian Society as a whole.
